About Our Firm
Knight & Galligan, LLC is a Certified Public Accounting Firm founded in January 2016 by friends and professsional colleagues with the common desire to create a small firm with "big firm" capabilities. The partners of Knight & Galligan, LLC have a combined fifty years plus of big firm experience. Our experiences include working on large, complex and sophisticated tax compliance and planning engagements. We also have experience serving clients with specialized needs such as athletes, entertainers and those with international aspects to their taxes.
As a small company, we are not bound by cumbersome management processes nor are we constrained by a large corporate infrastructure. Our firm is built around the framework of our fundamental beliefs and values and operated in a manner that is consistent with those beliefs and values.
We believe our firm is the best of two worlds - we have the experience and expertise to meet our client's tax planning and compliance needs but also have the ability to deliver our services in a way that only a small, flexible, nimble and forward-thinking organization can do. We do not have to be big to be successful and our business model will never change. We will always be focused on personalized client service.

We believe that the business we are in is a service business which requires a very high level of expertiese, a dedication to client service and a focus on relationships. We see ourseves as delivering a service to a client as opposed to selling a product to a customer. We strive to deliver sound tax technical advice not just prepare a tax return. We view our interaction with clients as a relationship versus a business transaction.
We truly believe that success for our clients and our firm is based on the fundamental tenets of delivering exceptional client service, technical competency and relationship driven actions.

alex.knight@kgllc.cpa Alex specializes in working with clients who have complex and unique financial needs, including high net worth individuals, corporate executives, athletes and entertainers. His practice focuses primarily on providing income and estate tax planning services to his clients. He also provides tax compliance and business advisory services for closely held businesses. His primary areas of expertise are individual, partnership, and fiduciary taxation as well as the international tax area. Alex has extensive experience in advising expatriate and foreign national taxpayers. Alex earned his B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Tennessee. He also attained a Master of Accounting degree with an emphasis on taxation from the University of Tennessee. He has been a practicing Certified Public Accountant since 1992 and has worked with the Big Four accounting firms for ten years as well as a large regional firm for the past eleven. Alex spent over four years living in Europe practicing in the international tax area. Organization Involvement: Outside of the office Alex enjoys spending time with his wife, Tiffany, and three sons. lori.galligan@kgllc.cpa Lori specializes in the individual tax area and coordinates tax compliance and consulting engagements for high net worth individuals, executives, and family business owners. Additionally, she has experience in partnership, foundation, and fiduciary income taxation. A native New Yorker, Lori started her public accounting profession in 1990 with Deloitte & Touche (now Deloitte). It was here that her career in the individual area began when she was selected to work in the high net worth group - only one of two specialty areas at the time. Realizing the personal satisfaction in working with individual clients, she continued this focus with Ernst & Young after moving to Atlanta. With the passage of Sarbanes-Oxley in 2002, national firms became limited in the scope of services they could provide to certain individual clients. Recognizing the change in the accounting and tax industry, Lori continued her career path at two large local firms. Lori earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. She also received a Master of Taxation degree from Baruch College in Manhattan. Lori is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Georgia and New York.
Organization Involvement: Outside of the office, Lori spends time with her husband, Tom. She also enjoys the North Georgia mountains, cross-stitching and hiking. Lori Galligan, Partner
